General Overview

After years of resistance, the team at Within have finally relented to the multitude of requests from their customers and are making their optimization software, Within Enhance and other software tools commercially available!

The video above demonstrates the ability of Within Enhance to control not only the design of an internal lattice but also the thickness of the part’s walls or skin in a fluid and continuous fashion.

A lattice can be defined by its resolution (or voxel size), thickness of the struts themselves and the topology. Each of these aspects can be modified independently and to a previously unattainable level of a detail. By using ‘Lattice Kernels’ the density of a lattice can be adjusted fluidly and with as much complexity as required. ‘Skin Kernels’ can also be used to adjust the density of a part's skin in a similar manner.
